DUAL Mode, Ethernet Failover, Nonshared IP

The IPV6RAENABLE ON attribute enables the SUBNET to obtain a prefix from the
router. This prefix is prepended to the interface ID.

As the IP Ethernet failover configuration is shared, the IPv4 addresses are the
same (172.14.215.27) and the IPv6 interface IDs are the same (::ABCD:1234). For
shared IP Ethernet failover, you must also have a valid, reserved IP address that
differs from the one that the two SUBNETs share (in this case, 172.12.215.29 and
:ABCD.1235).
DUAL Mode, Ethernet Failover, Nonshared IP
Example 1-9 on page 1-18 shows how to configure a DUAL-mode SUBNET with
Ethernet failover, nonshared IP. This configuration is shown in Figure 5-4.
This example shows that:

When configuring a SUBNET for DUAL-mode Ethernet failover, set the FAMILY
attribute to DUAL.

For Ethernet failover with nonshared IP, you do not need to specify an
IPV6INTERFACEID attribute (and if you do, you must specify a different interface
ID on the associated SUBNET).
Note. If you select the reserved IP address from a LIF on a different adapter, you can
replace the adapter without taking down TCP/IP communications.
