4 Using TFDSCOM Commands
Use the commands in this section in the TFDSCOM conversational interface to:
Display or modify configuration values
Save a specific configuration
Start or cancel activities
Request help
You must have both TFDS and the TFDSCOM process running to use these
commands. All numeric parameters must be of integer type. If you enter a command
incorrectly, an error message is issued, and the previous command value remains in
effect.
Table 4-1, TFDSCOM Command List, on page 4-2 lists all TFDSCOM commands and
indicates which of these commands can be used to alter TFDS configuration file
default settings. For more information on using TFDSCOM commands in TFDS
configuration files, see Viewing and Changing TFDS Configuration Options on
page 3-3.
Starting the TFDSCOM Interface
At the TACL prompt, start the TFDSCOM conversational interface:
TACL 1> TFDSCOM
Your terminal displays a message similar to the following:
Tandem Failure Data System - T6523G05 - (27OCT99) System \system-name
Conversational Interface - Copyright Tandem Computers Incorporated 1992-2001
TFDSCOM>
If the TFDS process ($ZDMP) is not running, the user interface issues the following
message:
TFDS process is not running - 'help, fc' are the only operational commands
Error 0014 is the file-system error that indicates TFDS is not running. For the starting
procedure for your system, see Section 3, Starting and Configuring TFDS.
To exit the TFDSCOM interface but not the TFDS application, use the EXIT command.
Note. The system-name parameter corresponds to name of the system you are using.
