REMOTENOTIFY
REMOTENOTIFY
The REMOTENOTIFY command is useful if you are managing multiple systems from
one workstation. With this option enabled, any software-related processor failure that
results in a dump creates a zero-length file on the remote system as a notification
mechanism.
system
represents a system name.
volume
represents a volume name.
subvolume
represents a subvolume name.
OFF
turns off REMOTENOTIFY. The default REMOTENOTIFY setting is OFF.
Guidelines
•
You can use the abbreviation rn in place of REMOTENOTIFY.
•
The syntax checking of the target location is validated by TFDSCOM, but no
validation is done to verify that the target destination exists.
•
If this flag is set to ON, TFDS creates a file for each incident under the specified
system.volume.subvolume. This name indicates the subvolume in which
information related with each incident is located (for example, ZDMP00xx).
•
If a network file transfer is invoked, remote passwords are required, and a link to
the target system must be operational.
Example
This example defines the target location of dump information under
\GRANDE.$SIST.DUMP:
REMOTENOTIFY ON \GRANDE.$SIST.DUMP
REMOTENOTIFY { ON system.volume.subvolume }
{ OFF }
