This manual describes the functions necessary to produce formatted text from a text
file on either the Tandem NonStop 1+ system or NonStop systems.
This manual is for anyone who wants to produce formatted text and for the system
manager who wants to modify the TGAL code. Before using this manual, we
recommend you read the following manuals:
GUARDIAN Operating System Utilities Reference Manual for the NonStop 1+ system
(Part No. 82402 A00) and the GUARDIAN Operating Systems Utilities Reference
Manual for the NonStop systems (Part No. 82403 A00) for information about
logging onto the system and running programs in general

Section 1, Understanding TGAL
This section provides an overview of what TGAL is, what it does, and how to
use it.
Section 2, TGAL Commands
This section lists all TGAL commands alphabetically. Accompanying each
command is a brief explanation of the command, including its default setting and
any possible limitations on its use.
Section 3, TGAL Examples
This section presents examples of the five most common formatted documents
used by users. Accompanying each example is the TGAL command file used to
format the document.
Section 4, Tailoring TGAL
This section describes methods for modifying TGAL code.
Appendix A, Syntax Summary
This section lists the syntax of each TGAL command.
Appendix B, Command Summary
This section lists each TGAL command, its initial value and value range, and an
explanation of the command.
