SEQ Command Use the SEQ command to number the lines of text on a page. It numbers one page at a
time. The numbers appear on the right side of the page, four spaces beyond the line
length specified with the OUTLEN command.
This command only numbers the text lines, not the headings or footings. Thus, if the
page length is 66, the SEQ command numbers the text lines from 1 through 54.
The syntax of the SEQ command is:
SEQ
ON
OFF
ON
starts numbering each line on a page.
OFF
stops numbering each line on a page.
Considerations
The last SEQ command on the page determines the action for that page and the
following pages. To stop numbering the lines, put the SEQ command after the
next NEW command or some other page break.
If you are printing on paper less than 132 characters wide, count the spaces
required for the line lengths, the left margin (include both POFF and ALT), and the
six spaces required by the SEQ command (four spaces plus two digits). You might
have to change the line length or margin to keep the numbers resulting from the
SEQ command from falling off the edge of the paper.
If you do not use this command, TGAL assumes:
SEQ OFF
