SPACE Command Use the SPACE command to leave the specified number of lines blank. This command
is useful when you need space to paste in a picture or graph.
The syntax of the SPACE command is:
SPACE
number
number
is the number of lines to be left blank. If you omit this option, TGAL leaves one
blank line.
Considerations
If you want a blank page, specify a number greater than the page size, usually 54.
TGAL does not carry blank lines across page boundaries. If you use SPACE 60 to
produce a blank page, you only get one blank page. You do not get six additional
blank lines at the top of the next page. Use another SPACE command, with the
number of lines specified, to get blank lines at the top of the page.
You must place the SPACE command after commands that affect the beginning of
a page (for example, the HEAD and SUBHEAD commands), or these commands
do not take affect until the following page. Commands delayed by the SPACE
command are POFF, OUTLEN, PAGELEN, SECT, HEAD, SUBHEAD, and FOOT.
Example
The following example shows using the SPACE command to leave a specified number
of lines blank. If you enter:
To be, or not to be: that is the question:
\SPACE 5
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer
\SPACE 5
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
\SPACE 5
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
