Reentering Deleted Dumps
TMF catalog at any time through the TMFCOM OBEY command. More information
about this approach, along with a full example, appears in the ADD DUMPS and INFO
DUMPS command descriptions in the TMF Reference Manual.
The following example shows how to use the OBEYFORM option to format INFO
DUMPS command output as command file text that can be executed by TMFCOM:
TMF 26> INFO /OUT DMPINFO/ DUMPS *.*.*, OBEYFORM, SERIAL 101, &
>>>SORT BYSERIAL, TYPE ONLINEDUMP
The command file contains an ADD DUMPS command for each dumped file:
Executing this command file produces new dump entries in the catalog that precisely
match the existing entries for dumps you selected in the INFO DUMPS command.
Adding Dump Entries Manually
An alternative way to add the dump entries is to follow these steps (note that this
alternative is more difficult and less efficient):
1. Use the INFO DUMPS command with the DETAIL option to capture the dump
information.
2. Then add the dumps manually through a series of ADD DUMPS commands.
When reentering a deleted dump entry using this method, be sure that the data
corresponds exactly to the data that was deleted by using the output from the
applicable INFO DUMPS command.
For example, assume an INFO DUMPS, DETAIL command has displayed the following
information for the audit dump $ZTMF.ZTMFAT.AA000503:
ADD DUMPS $DATA1.HRDATA.FILE001, SERIAL 101, &
TYPE ONLINEDUMP (3,3), TIME 14-Mar-2002 05:30:15 GMT, &
TAPEMEDIA (TAPE10:1:1, TAPE11:1:2)
ADD DUMPS $DATA1.HRDATA.FILE002, SERIAL 101, &
TYPE ONLINEDUMP (3,3), TIME 14-Mar-2002 05:30:15 GMT, &
TAPEMEDIA (TAPE10:1:1, TAPE11:1:2)
ADD DUMPS $DATA1.HRDATA.FILE003, SERIAL 101, &
