RECOVER FILES Command Specification
If you use the TIME option, the FROMARCHIVE option is automatically selected.
TOMATPOSITION (atseqno, rba)
applies the FROMARCHIVE option (whether it is specified or not), recovering all
files requested from the relevant online and audit dumps, and directs that the file
recovery process redo all transactions that were committed up to a specified
location in the master audit trail (MAT). Transactions that began before the
specified location but that were not yet committed are backed out. The database is
recovered to the audit position specified rather than to a time specified or to the
most recent consistent state. The location is specified by the atseqno and rba
parameters:
atseqno
specifies the sequence number of the MAT file where recovery is to stop. For
this value, you enter only the numeric portion of the file name. For example, to
recover to a relative byte address in MAT file AA000239, you enter only 239 as
the atseqno value.
rba
specifies the relative byte address (byte offset) in the MAT file where recovery
is to stop.
UNLOAD {ON | OFF}
determines whether the tape volume is unloaded after it has been used. ON
unloads the tape volume. OFF suppresses unloading. The default is ON.
TOPHYSVOL volume
identifies the physical target volume on which TMF should place the recovered
files.
WHEREPHYSVOLIS volume
identifies the original physical volumes where the files specified in the file-set
parameter are stored. This option limits the files to be recovered to those that
reside on the physical volumes.
Caution. The TOPHYSVOL option is intended for use with NonStop Storage Management
Foundation (SMF) files only. Before you issue a RECOVER FILES command with this option,
it is vital that you read “Options for the SMF Product” in the RECOVER FILES command
description in the TMF Reference Manual.
Caution. The WHEREPHYSVOLIS option is intended for use with SMF files only. Before you
issue a RECOVER FILES command with this option, it is vital that you read “Options for the
SMF Product” in the RECOVER FILES command description in the TMF Reference Manual.
