ALTER PROCESS
process-type
identifies the type of TMF process whose configuration attributes are to be altered:

changes the configuration attributes of all process types in the preceding list.
Process-type Process-type Description
AUDITDUMP Audit dump process, which dumps audit-trail files to disk
or tape.
AUDITRESTORE Audit restore process, which restores audit dumps from
disk or tape.
BACKOUT Backout process, which undoes the effects of incomplete
transactions.
CATALOG Catalog process, which manages the TMF catalog.
COPYAUDITOVFLOW Audit overflow process, which writes audit-trail files to
overflow-audit volumes.
FILERECOVERY File recovery process, which reconstructs unusable
audited files during recovery operations.
FILERECOVLIST File recovery list process, which supports the file recovery
process.
ONLINEDUMP Online dump process, which dumps audited database
files to tape or disk.
ONLINERESTORE Online restore process, which restores online dumps from
tape or disk.
TMFMON TMF monitor process, which is responsible for highest-
priority, performance-critical operations.
TMFMON2 Surrogate process that provides a processing
environment for TMFLIB operations.
TMP Transaction management process pair that coordinates
TMF configuration and distributed transactions.
VOLUMERECOVERY Volume recovery process that recovers database files to
their most recent consistent state if they become
inconsistent because of a disk volume or system failure.
Note. The
process-type parameter refers to all TMF processes of a specific kind. For
example, the AUDITDUMP process type identifies all audit dump processes in the system.
