x
New and Changed Information
about the use of the TOPHYSVOL, WHEREPHYSVOLIS, and
RECOVERVDPPHASE1 options used exclusively for SMF files. In addition, it
notes the new SPI buffer size limit (28 K) and the requirement for Expand links
to remote disk volumes to support 56 KB input/output for online and audit
dumps. It also includes notes about the use of ANSI names in the file-set
and NOT file-set parameters, revises information about the
FROMARCHIVE option, and contains minor corrections and clarifications.
°
SET AUDITTRAIL revises information about the FILESIZE option.
°
START TMF describes and illustrates new EMS messages that show the
status of the primary processes for the individual TMP components during TMF
startup.
°
STOP TMF discusses and illustrates new EMS messages that show the status
of the primary processes for the individual TMP components during TMF
shutdown.
This section also removes the syntax guidelines for specifying logical device
numbers described under Nondisk Device Names, since you cannot specify such
device numbers in TMFCOM commands. It also refers readers to TMF
Supplement for Limits and Defaults Changed After RVU G06.23 for information
about any TMF limits or defaults altered after this RVU.
•
Appendix A, TMFCOM Messages, extends the Error Identifiers discussion to
describe the new way in which TMFCOM displays information for parsing errors
(Messages 7000 through 7999), extends information for Errors 7045 and 7082,
and adds the following new Errors: 781 (which replaces Error 1001), 1018, and
7277 through 7292.
•
Appendix B, TMFCOM Command Reference Summary, presents syntax changes
for the ALTER AUDITTRAIL, ALTER CATALOG, and RECOVER FILES
commands.
•
Appendix C, TMF Configuration Limits and Defaults, shows in Table C-3,
Transaction Limits and Defaults, on page C-2, the new maximum limit (1000
transactions) on the number of transactions per process. A consequence of this
new limit is that when the TFILE is opened to the maximum of 1000 and very many
transactions are active for a given process, use of some resource-management
procedures may result in regroup halts. This appendix also presents, in Table C-6,
Process Limits and Defaults, on page C-3, information about the new limit and
default for the TMP extended segment size. In addition, this appendix refers
readers to TMF Supplement for Limits and Defaults Changed After RVU G06.23 for
information about any TMF limits or defaults altered after this RVU.
