NEXT AUDITTRAIL
NEXT AUDITTRAIL
The NEXT AUDITTRAIL command changes audit-trail files for a specified audit trail; it
stops new audit records from being added to the current audit-trail file and establishes
the next file in the audit trail sequence as the current audit-trail file.
MASTER | MAT
AUX[ILIARY]nn
identifies the audit trail for which you want to change audit-trail files. MASTER or
MAT specifies the master audit trail. AUXILIARYnn or AUXnn specifies an
auxiliary audit trail. nn is a two-digit number ranging from 01 through 15 that
specifies one of the 15 potential auxiliary audit trails in the configuration. (When
the value of nn is 09 or less, you must specify the leading zero in this value.)
Security Restrictions
You can issue the NEXT AUDITTRAIL command only if you are a member of the super
user group.
TMF State Requirement
Before you can enter the NEXT AUDITTRAIL command, TMF must be started.
Examples
The following NEXT AUDITTRAIL command closes the current audit-trail file for the
master audit trail, and assigns the next audit-trail file in the sequence as the new audit-
trail file:
TMF 45> NEXT AUDITTRAIL MAT
The subsequent NEXT AUDITTRAIL command similarly changes the audit-trail file for
the auxiliary audit trail AUX02:
TMF 46> NEXT AUDITTRAIL AUX02
