OPEN SERVER
In general, you issue an OPEN SERVER command to communicate with an existing
TMFSERVE process or to create and communicate with a new TMFSERVE process.
Accessing TMFSERVE on Your Local Node
When you start a session by entering the TMFCOM keyword, no TMFSERVE process
is running on behalf of your session. When you issue your first command in the
session, however, TMFCOM automatically creates a TMFSERVE process with a
randomly selected name on your local node. From this point on, this TMFSERVE
process handles the subsequent TMFCOM commands.
With the OPEN SERVER command, however, you can create a new TMFSERVE
process with attributes tailored to your own needs. You can also use this command to
access a specific existing TMFSERVE process. With the OPEN SERVER command,
for instance, you and another user could explicitly open and share access to the same
