OPEN SERVER
Understanding Interoperability Issues
When you use a TMFCOM OPEN SERVER command to open a TMFSERVE process
on a remote node in an EXPAND network, you may find your TMFCOM process
interacting with a newer or older version of TMFSERVE. If the remote TMFSERVE
does not support the options introduced in the version of TMFCOM covered by this
manual edition, the following results apply:
A TMFCOM operational command (such as ALTER AUDITTRAIL or RECOVER
FILES) that specifies one of these new options fails with an error message.
A TMFCOM command that displays information (such as INFO AUDITTRAIL or
INFO CATALOG) does not present information related to the new option.
Table 3-15, TMFCOM vs TMFSERVE Version Interaction: Operational Commands,
shows the behavior for operational commands when different versions of TMFCOM
and TMFSERVE interact.
