RESET TAPEMEDIA
RESET TAPEMEDIA
The RESET TAPEMEDIA command removes certain tape volume attributes, or resets
others to their defaults, canceling the effects of previous SET TAPEMEDIA commands.
These changes by RESET TAPEMEDIA are local to your current session, and affect
only ADD TAPEMEDIA commands subsequently issued within the session.
DENSITY
removes any DENSITY specification; thus, no density is specified at which the
tapes are written. See Section 4, TMFCOM Tape Media Considerations, for the
appropriate tape density setting for the tape drive you are using.
DRIVE
removes the DRIVE specification; thus, no tape drive is specified for labeling tape
volumes. This specification has no default but is required if the LABEL
specification is ON. Thus, if LABEL is ON, you must specify the tape drive in the
DRIVE parameter of a new ADD TAPEMEDIA or SET TAPEMEDIA command.
LABEL
resets the LABEL specification to OFF, indicating that tape volume labeling does
not occur.
STATUS
removes any STATUS specification; thus, tape volume status (ASSIGNED, BAD,
RELEASED, or SCRATCH) is not specified. This specification has no default but
is required if the LABEL specification is ON. Thus, if LABEL is ON, you must
specify the tape volume status in the STATUS parameter of a new ADD
TAPEMEDIA or SET TAPEMEDIA command.
UNLOAD
resets the UNLOAD specification to ON, indicating that the tape volume is
unloaded after it is labeled.
