STATUS RESOURCEMANAGER
STATE
displays information only for resource managers that are in the state indicated by
this parameter. If this parameter is omitted, TMFCOM displays information for all
resource managers requested, regardless of state. In this parameter, you can
specify one of the following states:
CREATED
displays information only for resource managers in the created state. A
resource manager in this state has been created in the directory, but has not
yet been opened by a gateway process.
CLOSED
displays information only for resource managers that have been closed and
that thus have no unresolved transaction branches.
OPEN
displays information only for resource managers that are currently open by
gateway processes and that can handle new transaction branch work.
RECOVERING
displays information only for resource managers that are currently open by
gateway processes but are still retrieving required information about
unresolved transactions from the last time these resource managers were
closed.
CRASHED
displays information only for resource managers that are closed but have
unresolved transaction branches. These resource managers will need
recovery the next time they are opened.
VOLATILE
displays information only for open volatile resource managers. Transaction
branch information cannot be reported for volatile resource managers.
However, both volatile and recoverable resource managers count toward the
number of open resource managers allowed per processor. Therefore, having
many open volatile resource managers reduces the number of possible open
recoverable resource managers.
Although volatile resource managers do not have names assigned by users or
gateway processes, the STATUS RESOURCEMANAGER command shows a
subsystem-generated name in its display. This name starts with the string ZZ-
VOLATILE-, followed by the identifying number of the processor where the
volatile resource manager is open, and then by an internal identifying number
ranging from 0 through 1023 inclusive. The digits in this identifying number are
separated by dashes. (Examples appear at the end of this discussion.)
