Message Descriptions

Cause. The command did not specify a quotation mark (“) where TMFCOM expected
one.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Check the syntax rules for the command and re-enter it accordingly.

Cause. In a command line containing multiple commands, a command followed the ?,
!, or FC command. (Although other commands permit this, ?, !, and FC do not.)
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the commands on separate lines.

Cause. A ?, !, or FC command was entered non-interactively, or was entered on a
command line with one or more other commands, or was encountered in an OBEY file,
or was issued with the OUT option. (Commands other than ?, !, and FC are permitted
any of these entry options.)
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the command without the OBEYFORM or OUT option.

Cause. A command parameter specified an illegal device or volume name.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Verify that the device identifier or volume name complies with the syntax
rules listed in File Names and Process Identifiers on page 3-6. Then, re-enter the
command, using a correct device identifier or volume name.
Expecting a quote.
No concatenated commands are allowed after ?, !, or FC.
?, !, and FC must be used interactively, must be the only
command on the command line, and may not be used within an
OBEY file or with the OUT option.
Illegal device or volume specified.
