About This Manual
This manual describes the syntax and semantics of all TMFCOM commands for using
the HP NonStop™ Transaction Management Facility (TMF) on HP NonStop servers.

Who Should Read This Manual
This manual is intended for system managers and system operators responsible for
configuring, maintaining, and overseeing the use of TMF on their computer systems.
To use this manual effectively, you should be familiar with NonStop server architecture
and the information in the following publications:

How This Manual Is Organized
Section 1, Introduction to TMF, introduces the TMF product. It provides a brief
overview of the objects controlled by TMF, and introduces TMFCOM, the interactive
command interface to TMF.
Section 2, Using TMFCOM, explains how to use TMFCOM, including how to access
this interface, enter TMFCOM commands, direct output to destinations other than your
terminal, use partially qualified file names in commands, and request online help.
Section 3, TMFCOM Commands, describes the individual TMFCOM commands,
presenting their syntax, security restrictions, usage guidelines, and examples of their
use.
Section 4, TMFCOM Tape Media Considerations, presents information about magnetic
tape media used with TMF, including tape density settings, labeled-tape processing
software interfaces, and guidelines for using labeled tape.
Appendix A, TMFCOM Messages, describes the messages sent by TMFCOM to your
workstation or terminal screen, or to an alternate output device.
