CMDVOL
If you specify an invalid volume name in volume, or an invalid subvolume name in
subvolume, an error message appears and the CMDVOL command is ignored.
The CMDVOL command applies to all unqualified file names encountered in TMFCOM
commands during this session except file names used as OBEY command
parameters. (However, the CMDVOL command does apply to file names that appear
within OBEY command files themselves.)
The distinction between the CMDVOL command and the OBEYVOL and VOLUME
commands, described later in this section, is as follows:
The CMDVOL command applies to all unqualified file names except those used as
OBEY command parameters.
The OBEYVOL command applies only to unqualified file names used as OBEY
command parameters.
The VOLUME command applies to all unqualified file names encountered in all
TMFCOM commands during the session, except those used as CMDVOL and
OBEYVOL command parameters.
Example
The following CMDVOL command specifies $DATA and RTL9001 as the default
volume and subvolume, respectively, for expanding unqualified file names used in
interactive TMFCOM commands during this TMFCOM session (except those used in
OBEY commands):
TMF 89> CMDVOL $DATA.RTL9001
The Command Volume entry in the output from the following ENV command reflects
this change:
TMF 90> ENV
Default Volume \TSII.$BOOKS1.STAFF
Volume None Specified
Command Volume $DATA.RTL9001
Obey Volume None Specified
In File \TSII.$ZTN1A.#PTGUJ0U
