DISABLE AUDITDUMP
DISABLE AUDITDUMP
The DISABLE AUDITDUMP command suspends an audit dump process, preventing
the dumping of audit-trail files.
MASTER | MAT
AUX[ILIARY]nn
specifies the audit trail associated with the audit dump process that is to be
suspended, thus identifying that process. MASTER or MAT specifies the master
audit trail. AUXILIARYnn or AUXnn specifies an auxiliary audit trail. nn is a two-
digit number ranging from 01 to 15 that specifies one of the 15 potential auxiliary
audit trails in the configuration.
ABRUPT
requests that, if an audit dump process is currently running, TMF abort that
process and discard the dump it is preparing. If you omit this option and an audit
dump process is running, that process completes the dump.
Security Restrictions
You can issue the DISABLE AUDITDUMP command only if you are a member of the
super user group.
TMF State Requirement
You can enter the DISABLE AUDITDUMP command at any time, whether or not TMF
has been started. However, the audit trail associated with the dump must be
configured for dumping (in other words, its AUDITDUMP attribute must be set to ON).
Usage Guidelines
The audit dump process identified in the DISABLE AUDITDUMP command remains
disabled until you explicitly issue an ENABLE AUDITDUMP command. The process
remains disabled even if you stop and restart TMF; you must issue ENABLE
AUDITDUMP to resume the dump.
If you specify ABRUPT in the DISABLE AUDITDUMP command, the file whose dump
is aborted is the first file to be dumped when dumping is reenabled.
