SET DUMPS
You can obtain both master and auxiliary audit trail sequence numbers by
examining output from a previous INFO DUMPS, DETAIL command or a previous
DUMP FILES command.
Security Restrictions
Anyone can issue the SET DUMPS command.
TMF State Requirement
You can enter the SET DUMPS command at any time, whether or not TMF has been
started.
Usage Guidelines
The values specified in SET DUMPS are local to your current session only and are not
propagated to TMFSERVE. These values take effect when you issue subsequent ADD
DUMPS commands within your session and cease to apply when your session ends.
You might want to use SET DUMPS when you expect to issue several subsequent
ADD DUMPS commands, using the SET DUMPS values for certain specifications in
most instances and overriding the default values. In this way, the SET DUMPS values
are carried forward to all the ADD DUMPS commands in your session, so that you
enter specific alternative values only as you want.
Use the INFO DUMPS command with the DETAIL option to get the names of online
dumps; the DETAIL option is not needed to obtain the names of audit dumps.
Specifying the same value for attribute more than once in a SET DUMPS
command results in an error message.
You can display the specification values established by the most recent SET DUMPS
command in your session by entering the SHOW DUMPS command.
For additional guidelines, see the ADD DUMPS command description earlier in this
section.
Examples
The following SET DUMPS command sets the TYPE attribute to AUDITDUMP:
TMF 25> SET DUMPS TYPE AUDITDUMP
