STATUS TMF
STATUS TMF
The STATUS TMF command displays the current activity of TMF.
Security Restrictions
Anyone can enter the STATUS TMF command.
TMF State Requirement
You can enter the STATUS TMF command at any time, whether or not TMF has been
started.
Usage Guidelines
In addition to TMF activity in general, including any process-creation problems
encountered during TMF generation, the STATUS TMF command presents status
information about the audit dump, audit trail, and catalog processes, plus the
COMMITHOLD status setting. Thus, in addition to the general TMF information, the
STATUS TMF command combines information from the STATUS AUDITDUMP,
STATUS AUDITTRAIL, STATUS BEGINTRANS, and STATUS CATALOG commands.
However, information from the other STATUS commands (STATUS DATAVOLS,
STATUS OPERATIONS, STATUS RESOURCEMANAGER, STATUS SERVER, and
STATUS TRANSACTIONS) does not appear in the STATUS TMF display.
The STATUS TMF command also presents the TMP wait timer’s setting, as reflected in
the TMPWAITTIMER attribute.
If the audit trail is out of space and TMF cannot locate a file for audit trail rollover, it will
stop generating audit information and display the following message with a STATUS
TMF command:
WARNING: Out of audit trail space--TMF CANNOT PROCEED. To
continue, issue ALTER AUDITTRAIL command to add an overflow
volume, add an active volume, or increase FILESPERVOLUME,
IMMEDIATELY.
To recover from this situation, perform one of the following actions by entering the
ALTER AUDITTRAIL command with the appropriate attribute value:
Increase the value of the number of files per volume through the
FILESPERVOLUME attribute.
Add an active-audit volume to the audit trail configuration through the
ADDACTIVEVOL attribute.
Add an overflow volume to the audit trail configuration through the
ADDOVERFLOW attribute.
