VOLUME
VOLUME
The VOLUME command specifies the default volume and subvolume names for
expanding all unqualified file names.
volume
is the name of the default disk volume.
subvolume
is the name of the default subvolume.
Security Restrictions
Anyone can enter the VOLUME command.
TMF State Requirement
You can enter the VOLUME command at any time, whether or not TMF has been
started.
Usage Guidelines
The VOLUME command allows you to specify default volume and subvolume names
that are recorded for your session and that remain in effect until you issue another
VOLUME command or until your session ends. The VOLUME command overrides the
default volume in effect when your TMFCOM session begins.
If you do not issue a VOLUME command, no default volume and subvolume are
recorded for your session. In this case, unqualified file names are expanded according
to the default in effect when you started TMFCOM.
If you enter the VOLUME command without specifying either volume or subvolume,
the default action depends on the parameters you omit:
If you enter volume but omit subvolume, the last default subvolume assigned
through the VOLUME command remains in effect. If you have not used the
VOLUME command to assign a default subvolume in this session, the default
subvolume in effect when you started TMFCOM becomes the recorded default
subvolume for your session.
If you omit volume but enter subvolume, the last default volume assigned with
the VOLUME command remains in effect. If you have not used the VOLUME
command to assign a default volume in this session, the default volume in effect
when you started TMFCOM becomes the recorded default volume for your
session.
