volume
is the invalid volume name.
Cause. The command included an invalid volume name. Perhaps the name was too
long, contained improper characters, or began with a character other than a dollar sign
($).
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Verify that the volume name complies with the syntax rules: this name must
consist of a dollar sign ($) followed by one to seven alphanumeric characters, and the
first alphanumeric character must be a letter. Then, re-enter the command with the
proper volume name.

volume
is the remote volume name.
Cause. The command contained a parameter that referred to a remote volume−but
only local volume names are allowed for that parameter.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the command, using a local volume name.

Cause. The command specified an invalid number of dump copies to be made in the
COPIES parameter. This parameter can indicate only 1 or 2 parallel copies, or from 1
to 3 serial copies.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the command, specifying a valid number of copies.
The command specified an invalid volume name.
The invalid volume name was volume.
In this context, the command cannot specify a remote volume
name. The remote volume name was volume.
The command specified an invalid COPIES option. The COPIES
option must specify a value between 1 and 2 for PARALLEL
copies, or between 1 and 3 for SERIES copies.
