398
volume
is the name of the volume specified in the command.
Cause. The command specified the volume but supplied additional selection criteria
that did not match the volume’s attributes. For example, a STATUS DATAVOLS
command requested information about a single volume named $DATA10 but specified
that only information about volumes in the STARTED state was to be returned.
Because $DATA10 had not been started, the volume and the selection criteria did not
match.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the command, specifying multiple volumes with the selection
criteria, or specifying a single volume but omitting the selection criteria.

is the name of the volume specified in the command.
Cause. The command referred to a volume whose current state prohibited the
operation. For example, a DISABLE DATAVOLS command attempted to disable a
data volume that was in the starting state, but the command did not specify the
ABRUPT option. As another example, the ENABLE DATAVOLS command attempted
to enable a data volume that was not in the disabled state.
Effect. The command fails.
Recovery. Re-enter the command after the volume’s state changes or with the
appropriate option specified (if applicable).
