ALTER AUDITDUMP
If the audit dump process fails while making serial copies, completed copies
are kept in the catalog. When the audit dump process resumes, the number of
completed copies is subtracted from the number of copies specified to
determine the number of copies remaining to be made.
The originally assigned default is PARALLEL. When COPIES 1 is selected, only
one copy is produced and the PARALLEL setting is ignored.
RESET COPIES
for dumps to tape, resets the COPIES setting to the originally assigned default,
PARALLEL. When COPIES 1 is selected, only one copy is produced and the
PARALLEL setting is ignored.
SYSTEM
for dumps to tape, specifies the node (system) on which all tape copies are made.
If you specify a remote node, Guardian labeled-tape processing must be enabled
on that node and must be running on the NonStop OS. TMF, however, need not be
configured or running on the remote node. The syntax rules for specifying a node
name appear under Disk File Names, earlier in this section.
Specifying two nodes produces parallel copies of tapes, one copy per node.
Whether they are produced locally or remotely, the tapes used are registered in the
local TMF catalog.
The originally assigned default is the local node.
RESET SYSTEM
for dumps to tape, resets the node on which tape copies are made to the originally
assigned default, which is the local node.
VERIFYTAPE
for dumps to tape, determines whether tape verification is performed after a tape is
written.
OFF
suppresses verification of tape volumes.
ON
performs tape verification. After each tape volume has been written, it is
rewound, read completely, and rewound again, and unloaded. The tape-record
checksums, tape-record sequence numbers, and tape format are verified. The
checks are the same as those made during file recovery; however, tape
verification does not include comparing the tape data to the audit-trail files on
disk.
