ALTER AUDITTRAIL
If you omit COMMITHOLDTIMER, the resulting action is as follows:
If you set COMMITHOLDMODE ON and have never specified a timeout
duration and timeout action, TMF assigns the default values of 60 seconds and
SUSPEND for these COMMITHOLDTIMER attributes.
If you set COMMITHOLDMODE ON and have previously specified a timeout
duration and timeout action but have subsequently specified RESET
COMMITHOLDMODE for the master audit trail, TMF assigns the default values
of 60 seconds and SUSPEND for these COMMITHOLDTIMER attributes.
If you set COMMITHOLDMODE ON and have previously specified a timeout
duration and timeout action and have not subsequently specified RESET
COMMITHOLDMODE, TMF uses the timeout duration and timeout action you
specified for COMMITHOLDTIMER; TMF uses these values even if you have
turned COMMITHOLDMODE OFF one or more times since establishing these
values.
You can change the COMMITHOLDTIMER timeout value while commit-hold is
activated. If you make this change during this period, TMF uses your new
COMMITHOLDTIMER timeout value to determine when the commit-hold moves
from activated to suspended or crash status. If the commit-hold has already been
activated longer than the new timeout value specified, the requested action
(SUSPEND or CRASH) takes effect immediately.
An ALTER AUDITTRAIL command that specifies the COMMITHOLDMODE or
COMMITHOLDTIMER option (or both of these options) cannot specify any other
options available with this command. The values and timeout actions specified in
the COMMITHOLDMODE and COMMITHOLDTIMER options remain in place after
you have stopped (normally or abruptly) and restarted TMF.
For any audit trail added at any time, the COMMITHOLDMODE attribute is
unconfigured (equivalent to OFF) by default.
For more information about ZLT, the COMMITHOLDMODE and
COMMITHOLDTIMER options, and the commit-hold condition, see
COMMITHOLDMODE and COMMITHOLDTIMER Option Considerations
on
page 3-68.
