Guide
This section presents new and revised information for the discussions documented in
the TMF Operations and Recovery Guide.
A complete summary of all new and revised discussions for the TMF manuals appears
in Table 1-1, Summary of New and Changed Information, on page 1-1.
Within in this section:
Each new discussion is completely bracketed by change bars, and shows the
notation “New Discussion” beneath the heading.
Each revised discussion has the same heading as the existing discussion in the
Operations and Recovery Guide, with only the revised information bracketed by
change bars. The corresponding page numbers in the Operations and Recovery
Guide are shown beneath the heading.
Large Audit Trails
(New Discussion)
TMF configuration operations that involve large audit trails may also be performed as
part of standard TMF maintenance. These operations are described in Section 3, TMF
Planning and Configuration Guide. Readers of the TMF Operations and Recovery
Guide should see that section for information about these operations.
Reason: Required by RDF environment
(Pages 2-6 through 2-7)
Meaning. the NonStop Remote Database Facility (RDF) requested the pinning of
the file on disk, and eventually will release the disk. The environment field indicates
the RDF environment that made the request, identified by system (node) and RDF
configuration ID.
Action. If RDF will be down for a long time, you may want to use the RDFCOM
UNPINAUDIT command to release the pinned audit-trail file. The UNPINAUDIT
command can be issued only by members of the super user group. If the RDF
software version you are using does not support the UNPINAUDIT command, you
must stop and restart TMF to release the audit-trail file.
