ALTER AUDITTRAIL (Pages 3-51 through 3-60)
AUDITDUMP {ON | OFF}
determines whether audit dumping is performed for the audit trail. ON specifies
that audit dumping takes place, and OFF prevents audit dumping.
Unless you also issue an ALTER AUDITDUMP command, the attributes of the
audit dump process default to the following values:
BLOCKSIZE, the tape data block length: 28 (x 1024 bytes)
COPIES, the number of copies to be made in series or in parallel of each
dump: 1 parallel
SYSTEM, the node (system) on which tape copies are made: the local node
VERIFYTAPE, the tape-verification selection: OFF
MEDIUM, the medium on which the dump is recorded: TAPE
The originally assigned default is ON.
If you specify AUDITDUMP OFF, commands related to AUDITDUMP that are
executed during the session return a message that the audit trail is not configured
for dumping. You can specify AUDITDUMP OFF only while TMF is started or prior
to its first start operation for the current configuration.
If you omit the AUDITDUMP option, the AUDITDUMP attribute value remains
unchanged.
ADDACTIVEVOL[S]
DELETEACTIVEVOL[S]
adds or deletes active-audit volumes for holding audit-trail files. The total number
of active-audit volumes configured for an audit trail must be between 1 and 16,
inclusive. After TMF is configured and started for the first time, volumes can be
added or deleted only while TMF is started.
Adding an active-audit volume adds the number of files specified in the
FILESPERVOLUME attribute to the audit trail capacity. Before it can successfully
add a volume, TMF must preallocate to the volume the number of files specified in
Note. For this and other optional parameters, the originally assigned default is the value
initially assigned to the parameter by TMF. The originally assigned default is used for the
parameter when no one has explicitly specified or altered this parameter’s value in a
previous command. For more information about how defaults are assigned, see Usage
Guidelines.
Note. TMF is shipped from the factory with the $AUDIT disk volume configured as the
active-audit volume. You are free to retain $AUDIT for this purpose, replace $AUDIT with
another volume as the recipient of audit trails, or add other active-audit volumes to the
configuration. See also the note about the preconfiguration of data volumes that appears
under the discussion of the ALTER DATAVOLS command.
