TMF Supplement for Large Audit Files (G06.24+)
HP NonStop TMF Supplement for Large Audit-Trail Files—527391-001

About This Manual
This manual supplement describes the features and operations related to the large
audit-trail files provided by the HP NonStop™ Transaction Management Facility (TMF).
These operations allow you to create and work with dramatically larger audit-trail files
than earlier TMF configurations allowed. They help TMF meet the growing demand for
faster and more frequent audit-trail file rollovers resulting from the greater machine
speeds and audit-generation rates now prevailing at many customer sites. Specifically,
large audit-trail file operations allow you to:
•
Alter the format of files in an existing audit-trail configuration from format 1 to
format 2. (Format 1 supports audit-trail files up to 2047 MB long; format 2 supports
audit-trail files up to 1048575 MB long.)
•
Change the FILESIZE attribute of existing audit-trail files.
This supplement extends, clarifies, and corrects some existing discussions in the
following TMF manuals, last revised at RVU G06.23:
•
TMF Glossary
•
TMF Planning and Configuration Guide
•
TMF Operations and Recovery Guide
•
TMF Reference Manual
•
TMF Management Programming Manual
•
TMF Application Programmer’s Guide
Of particular importance, new or changed information about elements that are not part
of the large audit-trail feature has been added to ARLIB2 discussion in the TMF
Application Programmer’s Guide. These items include:
•
A new audit-reading procedure, ARGETAUDRECHEADERINFO.
•
A revised method for including audit-reading operations in an application.
This supplement is an interim document for informing customers about large audit-trail
files. It complements, but does not replace, the other manuals in the TMF Manual
Library. When the individual manuals in the TMF Manual Library are again updated,
the supplement will be merged into those manuals.
