STATUS AUDITTRAIL (Pages 3-261 through 3-267)
Adding an active-audit volume to the audit trail increases audit trail capacity by the
number of files specified in the FILESPERVOLUME attribute. You can use this option
only if you have a volume that is not already configured as an active-audit volume or a
data volume.
Adding an overflow volume to the audit trail will not immediately resolve the rollover or
audit generation problem; the condition will clear, however, once the oldest pinned
audit-trail file is copied to the overflow volume.
Regardless of the option you choose to circumvent this problem, it is important that you
determine the cause of the problem to make sure it does not recur.
Output Displayed
The STATUS AUDITTRAIL command displays the items listed in Table 5-2.

Heading or Item Description
Audit Trail Name Name of the audit trail: master is the master audit trail, and
auxiliarynn is an auxiliary audit trail. This name is followed by the
notation “OVERFLOW SPACE IN USE! if the audit trail has passed its
overflow threshold and is using overflow space.
Active-Audit Trail
Capacity Used
Percentage of audit trail capacity in use.
First Pinned File Name of the oldest audit-trail file that cannot yet be reused or purged
from the active or overflow-audit volume by TMF. This file is said to
be pinned (retained) on disk. There is always at least one such audit-
trail file on disk, so the display always shows a file name after this
heading.
