STATUS AUDITTRAIL (Pages 3-261 through 3-267)
Files Names of one or more audit-trail files, followed in parentheses by an
indication of their status. If the DETAIL option is not specified, only
the current audit file is displayed. If the DETAIL option is specified,
the display also shows the names of every other file in the audit trail
that is being managed on disk by TMF; these include preallocated,
overflow, and restored files.
The status reported is one of the following entries. (In the following
list, each status entry is followed by an explanation of its meaning.)
active
Active-audit trail files that precede the current file contain audit
records needed for transactions in progress or, potentially, for use
by volume recovery or a TMF restart. An active-audit trail file that
is in sequence after the current file becomes the next current file.
This file contains no audit records.
available
The file is no longer needed for transactions in progress, volume
recovery, or TMF restart. If audit dumping is configured, the file
has been dumped; it can be reused when the current file gets full.
current
The file is currently receiving audit records, so it is not ready to be
dumped.
dumped
The file has been copied to archive media by the audit dump
process. An available file is not marked as dumped because it
must have been dumped to become available.
dumping
The file is being copied to archive media by the audit dump
process, or is the next file to be dumped.
not dumped
The file has not yet been copied to archive media.
not dumping
The file will not be dumped because the audit trail was not
configured for dumping when the file became full. This file can
only be dumped manually, with a backup or duplication program.
overflow
Overflow-audit files are like active files but have been copied to
an overflow volume. This happens when the space consumed by
active-audit trail files exceeds the overflow threshold configured
for the audit trail.
