2 System Setup
This section tells you how to set up the TN3270e server on your system. It gives the
system requirements and installation steps. This section also provides instructions on
configuring TCP/IP and verifying the TCP/IP configuration.
System Requirements
Before you begin using the TN3270e server, check that your system meets the
requirements listed in Table 2-1.

1. The working set depends on the number of active sessions, transaction rate, and message size. Use the
memory statistics displayed by STATUS PROCESS for actual usage.
2. Every outstanding I/O operation to or from the TN3270e server uses a pair of XLBs. One XLB is used by the
sending process and one by the receiving process.
