event may occur for printer type clients that do not request client response
processing. Using this option prevents the rare event from occurring. For
interactive terminal client types, this is not a problem as this option affects only
the WRITE type request.

3270 Local and Remote Commands
IBM has defined different values for 3270 commands for local and remotely attached
cluster controllers. The local command set is used by 3272 and 3274 models -1B and
-1D channel-attached controllers. The remote command set is used by the 3271, 3274,
3275, and 3276 communications line-attached controllers.
You can configure the TN3270e server to send either local or remote 3270 commands
to TN3270 client programs.
Many TN3270 clients can accept either local or remote commands. Some clients
accept only the local 3270 command set. The IBM RS/6000 and OS/2 client programs
recognize only local commands.
The TN3270e server translates 3270 ASCII commands used by HP block mode
applications to the corresponding local or remote EBCDIC commands based on the
presence of the -r command line option.
Note. If you run the TN3270e server with no command line arguments, the startup syntax is
displayed and the TN3270e server terminates.
