6 ITI Communication Protocol
This section is divided into the following parts:
Interactive Terminal Interface describes the interactive terminal interface (ITI).
Applicable File System Procedures (SNAX/XF Mode) on page 6-4 describes the
application interface to the TN3270e server when it is configured to emulate
SNAX/XF.
Interactive Terminal Interface
A TN3270e server window assigned to the interactive terminal interface (ITI) protocol is
used to run the HP Tandem Advanced Command Language (TACL). With a TACL
process running on the subdevice, the terminal operates in an interactive environment.
As a result, you can initiate any kind of application process (such as EDIT and FUP)
allowed on a standard interactive device.
You can configure the TN3270e server to run in CRT or ITI mode with a SETMODE 8
call. See Section 5, CRT Communication Protocol for more information about running
the TN3270e server in CRT mode. By default, the TN3270e server uses ITI mode.
