Purpose
This document is designed to help you perform the following tasks:
Learn about the TNS/R native execution and development environment and how it
differs from the TNS environment.
Determine which programs can be migrated and the effort required to migrate
them.
Plan a migration strategy.
Migrate programs written in HP C for NonStop Systems and HP C++ for NonStop
Systems from TNS to native mode.
Migrate programs written in HP COBOL85 for NonStop Systems from TNS to
native mode.
Convert HP Transaction Application Language (TAL) programs to pTAL (portable
TAL) programs.
Migrate user libraries.
Use the Data Definition Language (DDL) to support TNS and native programs.
Make changes in the Guardian application program interface (API), OSS API and
utilities, and CRE API required to migrate programs to native mode.
Allow TNS and native programs to share data.
Migrate user-written Pathway/TS TCP user conversion procedures.
The manual assumes that you are familiar with the programming languages, compilers,
and tools used to create the programs you plan to migrate to native mode.
This manual does not describe RVU installation, configuration, and migration issues
that are not related to migrating an existing application to native mode. For information
