Tandem Performance Data Collector (TPDC) Manual—526357-001
A-1
A Entity and Attribute Definitions
Table A-1 gives an alphabetical overview of all the entities used by TPDC and indicates
the entity type as used by TPDC. Following this table, each entity is listed and defined
by its attribute identification. For more information, see the DDL records in your
distribution subvolume.
Table A-1. TPDC Entities (page 1 of 5)
Entity
TPDC Entity
Type Description
ALTK
Data Collection A disk directory entity that provides information
about alternate key files.
CACHE
Measure-Derived Derived from the Measure DISC entity, contains
information about cache counters and linkages.
CATEGORY
SPAM Contains process category descriptions, counts,
and CPU busy times.
CLUSTER
Measure-Derived FOX ring measurement counters and linkages.
The CLUSTER entity contains information about
the number of FOX (fiber optic link) messages sent
and received by all processes on the measured
system.
COLLECT
SPAM Contains the spooler collector process name.
Collectors are assumed to run from the program
file CSPOOL.
CONTROL
Data Collection Controller counters and linkages (D20).
(Controller) Measure-Derived
CPU
Measure-Derived CPU measurement counters and linkages. The
CPU entity contains information on all the major
activities that the CPU handles.
CPUX
SPAM Contains all standard CPU entity fields plus some
aggregated process fields for processes residing in
a CPU.
DEVICE
Measure-Derived Device counters and linkages. The DEVICE entity
contains information about all devices on the
measured system except disks, communication
lines, and terminals.
DEVTYPES
SPAM Contains extra Measure DDL.
DGLOBAL
SPAM Contains summary data for logical disk volumes
(DISC and PROCESS data).
DISCINFO
SPAM Contains all pertinent data for each logical disk
volume (DISC and disk PROCESS data).
