After the Measurement Period
After the Measurement Period
After retrieving data from the Measure measurements, TPDC integrates it, normalizes
it, and relates it to data from other sources. TPDC then creates a single, consolidated
data (UWS) file for subsequent analysis and reporting.
TPDC can optionally report on the measured configuration and file-system information:
Device Distribution Report (by device type)
Disk Report (similar to PUP LISTDEV DISC, with disk space added)
File Label Report (similar to FUP INFO filename, detail)
Logical Device Report (similar to PUP LISTDEV)
Node Report (node-specific information)
Process Pair Directory Report (similar to TACL PPD command output)
System Generation Values Report (similar to headings on PEEK)
Volume Label Report
Subsequent Analysis and Reporting
The single consolidated data file contains all the information needed for analysis. The
Tandem Performance Load Measure (TPLM) component loads the consolidated data
file and creates the Measure structured format entities. (The two exceptions are the
PROCESSH and USER entities, which are not collected by TPDC.) You can then use
the Measure entities created in this manner in conjunction with the HP Guardian
Performance Analyzer (GPA) and Enform products for further analysis and reporting.
For example, the SPAM component produces reports on:
Total, average, highest, and lowest values for key performance indicators
Percentage of total CPU busy time consumed by process groups
CPU activity
Disk process activity
Disk subsystem activity
Detailed disk file activity (logical I/O, disk process driver calls, or physical I/O)
Expand line handler and intersystem network packet traffic activity
Data communications line activity
HP NonStop Transaction Management Facility (TMF) transaction activity
SQL statement activity
Detailed process activity (busiest, most page faults, or most real memory used)
