Running Deferred Processing (TPDP)
Using the DEFER option lets you postpone using system time to process the collected
data until a less processor-intensive time on your system.
You must run TPDP on the same system on which TPDC collected the data. If a UWS
file is already on the system, TPDP overwrites it with the new UWS file it creates.
Because of its flexibility which minimizes the impact of data collection on your system,
deferred processing is the recommended processing mode.
yymmdd
specifies the date TPDC took the measurement you want to process.
hhmm
specifies the time that TPDC began taking the measurement you want to process.
REPORTS
specifies that the following reports on the configuration of the measured system be
produced. There are several reports, some of which you can also generate directly
from the TPLM and TPLD components:
Device Distribution Report
Disk Report
File Label Report
Logical Device Report
Node Report
Process Pair Directory Report
System Generation Values Report
Volume Label Report (created only once a day in the default volume)
RESTART
specifies that the RWS file be used as input instead of the default DWS file. TPDC
stores the data it collects in the RWS file and purges the RWS file after using its
data to create the DWS file. Use this option if the CPU that TPDC is running on
failed while collecting data or if TPDC terminated unexpectedly.
RETAIN
specifies that the raw Measure data and DWS file are not to be purged after TPDP
creates the consolidated data file. If you do not specify this option, TPDP purges
