Disk Report
NP
displays the number of paths to the device.
PPID
displays the primary process ID controlling the logical device (CPU number, PIN).
CH
displays the primary channel connection (0 through 3). (D-series only; for G-series,
GP displays the primary group number instead.)
CTLR
displays the primary controller number in octal. (D-series only; for G-series, MOD
displays the module number instead.)
UN
displays the primary unit number (0 through 7). (D-series only; for G-series, SLOT
displays the slot number instead.)
BPID
displays the backup process ID controlling the logical device (CPU number, PIN).

Code State Description
blank Up/read and
write
The device is logically accessible to user processes. For an
optical disk volume, read and write access is allowed.
D Down The device is no longer logically accessible to user processes.
F Format A format is in progress on a disk of subtype 16 or greater.
H Hard down The device was put into the hard-down state by the PUP DOWN
HARD command or is physically inaccessible due to a hardware
error. To take a device out of this state, issue a PUP DOWN
command for that device.
I Inaccessible The device is inaccessible to user processes (all paths to the
processor are down), or the LISTDEV request timed out.
L Locked The volume is locked in a drive.
R Revive A REVIVE operation is in progress.
S Special The device is being used by PUP or some other privileged
process and is inaccessible to user processes.
TCE Improper DEVSTATE^CINFIG^ERR.
