Log Interprocess Messages
This input field enables logging to the TRANSFER server DEBUGLOG file for
diagnostic purposes. Possible values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is N.
If you are experiencing problems with TRANSFER, your system manager can review
the messages logged in the DEBUGLOG file and perhaps diagnose the problem.
Collect Statistics
This input field specifies whether depot storage statistics can be collected for this
group's depot. Possible values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is Y.
Group Depot Frozen
This input field specifies whether depot storage statistics for this depot should be
frozen at this point for collection purposes. When statistics are being collected on the
system for, say, billing purposes, this flag prevents group members from accessing the
depot and prevents any further changes to the group's storage statistics. Possible
values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is N.
What Correspondents
Can Do
As a correspondent, you can view profiles for a group to which you belong. You
cannot make any modifications in a profile.
What Read-Only
Administrators Can Do
As a read-only administrator, you can perform the same functions as correspondents.
In addition, you can examine the contents of any group's depot by first entering a
group name in the Interest Group field on the INTEREST GROUP PROFILES menu
screen and then displaying this screen. You cannot modify the fields in anyone else’s
depot, however.
What Group Creators
Can Do
Group creators can perform the same functions as correspondents. In addition, as a
group creator you can alter, for any group you have created, any field on the second
page of the INTEREST GROUP TRANSFER PROFILE screen. You should, however,
consult with the system manager before setting the Log Interprocess Messages field,
the Collect Statistics field, or the Group Depot Frozen field.
What System
Administrators Can Do
As a system administrator, you can alter, for any interest group depot, any field on the
second page of the INTEREST GROUP TRANSFER PROFILE screen. You are,
however, advised to consult with the system manager before setting the Log
Interprocess Messages field, the Collect Statistics field, or the Group Depot Frozen
field.
Executing the Functions Execute functions allowed by your privileges as follows:
Enter new values in all modifiable fields and press F8.
If you wish, you can make permitted changes on both pages of the INTEREST
GROUP TRANSFER PROFILE screen and press F8 to execute all the changes at
once. If you neglect to press F8, however, none of the changes on either page will
be recorded.
