PRINT-ON-DELIVERY AGENT CONFIGURATION Screen
TRANSFER Agents
40591 Tandem Computers Incorporated 9–13
Screen-Specific Fields Input and display fields specific to the PRINT-ON-DELIVERY screen are defined in
the following paragraphs.
Correspondent/Group
This is a display-only field for the name of the correspondent or group depot to which
the print-on-delivery agent is assigned.
Application IDs from . . . through. These are input fields specifying the range of
application IDs that invoke the print-on-delivery agent. Application IDs that invoke
an agent must be between 0 and 9999. The application IDs 100 through 999, reserved
for applications supplied by Tandem, are initially displayed.
Agent Select Values from . . . through
These are input fields specifying the range of agent select values that invoke the print-
on-delivery agent. The agent selection values that invoke an agent must be between 0
and 9999. These values are displayed in the fields initially.
The print-on-delivery agent is invoked only if the application ID and agent selection
values in the message header are in the ranges specified in the agent configuration.
See your system manager for details.
Printer Location
This input field specifies the location of the output device where the print-on-delivery
agent directs packages. You can enter a printer or spooler name (for example, $printer
name for a print device or $S.#printer name for a spooler location) and one or both of
the PS MAIL PRINT options: NOHEADER or MSGONLY (or simply MO).
The options may be entered without a printer device; however, if a printer device is
given, it must appear first, before any options on the line.
If the Printer Location field is blank, the print-on-delivery agent directs messages to
the default output location for this depot. The agent checks the CORRESPONDENT
MAIL PROFILE to get the name of the default location.
The printer location device type is validated when configured; however, temporary
system errors such as a downed printer or spooler process cause TRANSFER to send
an “AGENT LOGGED AN ERROR” message to the recipient depot.
