TRANSFER Administration Guide Volume 1 Reference Manual
10 System Control Functions
40591 Tandem Computers Incorporated 10–1
Overview As an ADMIN correspondent or administrator, you are not responsible for handling
TRANSFER system control functions. Your system manager uses these functions to
control the TRANSFER environment, as described in the TRANSFER Installation and
Management Guide. You may want to display these screens for information purposes,
though.
From the TRANSFER SYSTEM CONTROL screen, the system manager can set the time
limits for messages sent from this node, specify whether external objects are enabled,
and indicate the default language and character set for the system. TMANAGER
provides a set of screens for performing other system and resource management
functions. The SESSIONS IN PROGRESS screen, accessible only to administrators,
lists the correspondent names for all sessions currently active. The DEPOT
STATISTICS CONFIGURATION screen enables the manager to determine how and
when depot disk storage statistics are collected and saved by the TRANSFER statistics
facility.
The X400 GATEWAY ATTRIBUTES screen is a read-only screen containing the X400
name attributes for the current X400 gateway node. The attributes are established
when the gateway is configured.
The ADMIN application also allows customers to define their own system control
parameters. If a user-supplied system control module has been installed at your node,
your system manager can provide you with details on the profile screen for that
module and the values in the fields on the screen.
Figure 10-1 shows the flow of the system control screens.
