Folders are the places where packages are stored in a depot. In addition to the
folders automatically created and maintained by TRANSFER, a correspondent can
define other folders for a depot.
Distribution lists are predefined lists of recipients for packages. A distribution list,
which provides a simple method for sending a package to multiple destinations,
belongs to the correspondent who creates it; however, any correspondent can use
any distribution list.
In addition to folders and distribution lists that are associated with a private
correspondent depot, TRANSFER also supports shared folders and distribution lists
owned by an interest group, that is, a group of correspondents who have a common
interest or function. Group members can read items in a group bulletin board folder
and save items to the bulletin board for others to read.
ADMIN Functions The ADMIN client provides interactive screens that allow system administrators to
manage administrative functions for TRANSFER correspondents. Correspondents are
permitted to alter certain attributes of their own depot information.
Screens are provided for listing, adding, and deleting correspondents and interest
groups; defining and modifying TRANSFER and PS MAIL profiles; identifying X400
correspondents; creating distribution lists and folders; defining agents; and displaying
depot storage statistics.
When you choose a function by pressing a function key on the ADMIN MAIN MENU
screen, ADMIN displays the appropriate screen.
