Group Creator or Administrator Functions
If you are the creator or administrator of one or more interest groups, you can enter
the name of one of those interest groups in the CORRESPONDENT/GROUP field and
perform the same functions for the group that you can for yourself. That is, you can
list, add, and delete distribution list, folders, and agents; view and sample depot
statistics; modify the group profile; and display affiliation with other interest groups.
A flag set by the system manager in the TRANSFER SYSTEM CONTROL screen
dictates whether correspondents at a given node can create interest groups. A mark
inserted by a group creator next to a group member's name in the INTEREST GROUP
MEMBERS screen determines whether that member can be a group administrator.
What a Read-Only
Administrator Can Do
If you are a read-only system administrator, you can execute all the same functions at
the MAIN MENU as a correspondent.
In addition, as a read-only administrator, you can enter another correspondent name
or interest group name in the CORRESPONDENT/GROUP field and perform all of
the functions on a read-only basis. For example, you will be able to display profiles for
other correspondents, but not change any information.
What a System
Administrator Can Do
As a system administrator you can perform all the functions of a correspondent with
respect to any TRANSFER depot. You can enter in the CORRESPONDENT/GROUP
field any correspondent or interest group name registered at your node, activating
your administrative privilege to represent that correspondent or group. Thus, you can
examine the contents of the depot belonging to the correspondent or group and alter
the contents.
In addition, you can get the SESSIONS IN PROGRESS screen by pressing SF4. This
screen displays the correspondent names for currently active sessions. For more
information about this screen, see Section 10, “System Control Functions.”
