DELETE. The field accepts up to 32 characters. See Section 2, “Getting Started with
ADMIN,” for a discussion of search patterns and naming rules.
What Correspondents and
Read-Only Administrators
Can Do
As a correspondent or read-only administrator, you can use all the functions on this
screen except the F6 DELETE and F7 ADD functions. If you attempt to use F6 or F7,
you will get an error message. You can perform the following functions:
Display a list of one or more correspondents by entering a search pattern or name
in the Correspondent field and pressing F1.
A pattern includes one or more asterisks standing for any character or characters
in the position held by the asterisks. As an example, you could type the following
to get a list of all the correspondents at the LA node with the last name of Smith:
SMITH_* @LA
This example assumes that the correspondent naming convention at your site is
LASTNAME_FIRSTNAME. For a complete explanation of search patterns, see
Section 2, “Getting Started with ADMIN.”
Return to the first page of a multipage listing by pressing SF1.
Move between pages of this screen by pressing NEXT PAGE and PREV PAGE.
Recover the CORRESPONDENTS screen in its previous state by pressing SF14.
This function can be useful if, for example, the contents of the screen become
garbled due to a communication error. RECOVER brings the screen back.
Get the Help screen for an explanation of the CORRESPONDENTS screen or the
message currently displayed on the advice line by pressing F15.
Return to the MAIN MENU by pressing F16.
What System
Administrators Can Do
As a system administrator, you can do everything correspondents and read-only
administrators can do. In addition, you can perform the following functions:
Delete a local correspondent by entering the name in the Correspondent field or
positioning the cursor next to the name in a list and pressing F6. If the
correspondent's depot has existing folders or distribution lists, you will get the
VERIFY DELETION OF CORRESPONDENT screen to confirm the deletion.
Add a correspondent to the local node by entering the name in the Correspondent
field and pressing F7. You'll get the CORRESPONDENTS ATTRIBUTES screen,
where you can complete registration for the correspondent.
Leave the Correspondent field blank and get the CORRESPONDENTS
ATTRIBUTES screen by pressing F7. You can register one or more new
correspondents on the CORRESPONDENTS ATTRIBUTES screen.
