4 Managing Correspondent
Profiles

Overview This section describes how to modify attributes in a correspondent's TRANSFER
profile and MAIL profile.
Every depot contains a TRANSFER and a MAIL profile established when a new
correspondent is registered with TRANSFER. TRANSFER uses the TRANSFER profile
not only when a correspondent logs on but also throughout the session. The fields in
the profile define the TRANSFER operating environment for that correspondent. The
MAIL profile defines the correspondent's PS MAIL environment within TRANSFER.
The TRANSFER and MAIL profiles can be modified to accommodate a new user's
needs. Correspondents and read-only administrators can modify certain attributes of
their own profiles. System administrators can change most profile attributes for any
correspondent; however, some system-level parameters are best managed and altered
only by the system manager.
Profiles are updated by calling up the CORRESPONDENT PROFILES screen from the
MAIN MENU. The CORRESPONDENT PROFILES screen is, in turn, a menu from
which the four-page CORRESPONDENT TRANSFER PROFILE screen and the two-
page CORRESPONDENT MAIL PROFILE screen can be accessed. Figure 4-1 shows
the flow of the correspondent profile screens.
