system must be configured with information for the new map. See your system
manager for details.
Tandem U.S. ASCII has a code set ID of 65301. Appendix A lists other character maps
TRANSFER supports, along with the numbers used to specify them.
Delivery Starts
This is an input field for specifying the length of time that packages sent are delayed
before delivery starts. This parameter allows you to create a package but delay its
delivery until after the time interval specified. The value entered in this field applies
to all packages and must be within the limits set by the TRANSFER system control
parameters. Section 10, “System Control Functions,” describes how to display control
parameter values.
The length of time a package sent can be delayed before delivery starts can be from 0
through 9999 minutes (M), hours (H), or days (D). If the numeric portion of the value
entered is 0, TRANSFER sets the units to minutes when the profile is updated. The
TRANSFER system default is 0 minutes.
Delivery Ends
This is an input field for specifying the maximum time interval within which delivery
of a package must be completed. The value entered in this field applies to all packages
and must be within the limits set by the TRANSFER system control parameters.
Section 10, “System Control Functions,” describes how to display control parameter
values.
The maximum time interval within which delivery of a package must be completed
can be from 1 through 9999 minutes (M), hours (H), or days (D). TRANSFER notifies
the sender if the package cannot be delivered within the specified timeframe. The
TRANSFER system default is two days.
Package Expires
This input field specifies how long a package can remain unexamined in the recipient’s
INBOX before expiring. It does not apply to other folders.
The time interval from the end of delivery until an unexamined package expires can be
from 0 through 9999 minutes (M), hours (H), or days (D). TRANSFER notifies the
sender if the package cannot be delivered within the specified time frame.
The TRANSFER system default for this parameter is 0, which means that packages do
not automatically expire. Instead, packages remain in a recipient's INBOX until
explicitly removed by the recipient or an agent, or until the item retention set for the
INBOX elapses. The sender is notified when a packages expires.
This field cannot be set to a value lower than the minimum expiration window set by
TRANSFER system control. If this field is greater than 0 but less than the minimum
expiration set by TRANSFER, the value is automatically increased to the minimum
each time a package is sent. Section 10, “System Control Functions,” describes how to
find the value for the minimum expiration window.
