GUARDIAN 90 User ID
This is an input field for the GUARDIAN 90 user ID of the depot owner. The
correspondent's GUARDIAN 90 user ID and GUARDIAN 90 password are specified in
the profile to enable the correspondent to access GUARDIAN 90 folders. TRANSFER
initially displays NONE in this field.
If the GUARDIAN 90 user ID is changed, the password must be entered unless the
GUARDIAN 90 user ID of the logged-on correspondent is the group manager ID for
the new GUARDIAN 90 user ID or is the super ID.
GUARDIAN 90 Password
This is an input field for the GUARDIAN 90 password of the depot owner. The
correspondent's GUARDIAN 90 user ID and GUARDIAN 90 password are specified in
the profile to enable the correspondent to access GUARDIAN 90 folders. The
password cannot contain control characters. For security reasons, whatever you enter
is not displayed.
If you change your GUARDIAN 90 password, but your GUARDIAN 90 user ID
remains the same, you do not need to update the GUARDIAN 90 password in the
TRANSFER profile.
What Correspondents
Can Do
As a correspondent, you can make changes to your own profile only. For your own
depot, you can update all the input fields on this page of the CORRESPONDENT
TRANSFER PROFILE screen except the Language ID and Character Map fields.
What Read-Only
Administrators Can Do
As a read-only administrator, you can execute for your own depot the same functions
as correspondents can. In addition , you can examine the contents of any
correspondent's depot by first entering a user name in the Correspondent field on the
CORRESPONDENT PROFILES menu screen and then displaying this screen. You
cannot modify the fields in anyone else's depot, however.
What System
Administrators Can Do
As a system administrator, you can alter, for any correspondent depot, any field on the
first page of the CORRESPONDENT TRANSFER PROFILE screen. You are, however,
advised to consult with the system manager before modifying the Language ID or
Character Map ID fields.
Password changes are handled differently. With regard to passwords, you can:
Change a correspondent's TRANSFER password by typing in the new password
only and pressing F8. (System administrators are permitted to change a password
without entering the correspondent's existing password because they presumably
do not know the existing password.)
Delete a correspondent's TRANSFER password by first changing the password,
and then entering the new password in the existing password field. Leave the
new password field blank and press F8 to update the system. (You have to change
the password before updating it with blanks because you presumably would not
know the existing password.)
