Restriction Flags
The following fields establish a correspondent’s access privileges
Logon Allowed. This input field specifies whether this correspondent can start a session
with TRANSFER. It does not apply to sessions initiated for agents assigned to the
depot. Possible values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is Y.
This field cannot be modified by the depot owner, even if the owner is a system
administrator. The field can only be modified by a system administrator who is not
the depot owner.
Access to ADMIN Allowed. This is an input field whose value is used by the PS MAIL
products to prevent users from changing values on the PS MAIL Profile screen. The
setting of this flag is ignored by all other Tandem products. Possible values are Y (yes)
or N (no). The default is Y. A value of N prevents PS MAIL users from changing their
profiles.
A customer-written application can set this flag to allow or prohibit access to ADMIN
when ADMIN is embedded within the application.
Correspondent Depot Frozen. This input field specifies whether storage statistics for this
depot are currently frozen for collection purposes. When statistics are being collected
on the system for, say, billing, this flag prevents the correspondent from accessing the
depot and prevents any further changes to the correspondent's storage statistics.
Possible values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is N.
Note When this flag is set to Y (yes), the value for the Logon Allowed field is forced to N (no).
Log Interprocess Messages
This input field enables logging to the TRANSFER server DEBUGLOG file for
diagnostic purposes. Possible values are Y (yes) or N (no). The default is N.
If you are experiencing problems with TRANSFER, your system manager can review
the messages logged in the DEBUGLOG file and perhaps diagnose the problem.
What Correspondents
Can Do
As a correspondent, you can make changes to your own profiles only. On page 2, you
can alter only one field: Log Interprocess Messages.
What Read-Only
Administrators Can Do
As a read-only administrator, you can perform the same functions as correspondents.
In addition, you can examine the contents of any correspondent's depot by first
entering a user name in the Correspondent field on the CORRESPONDENT PROFILES
menu screen and then displaying this screen. You cannot modify the fields in anyone
else's depot, however.
What System
Administrators Can Do
As a system administrator, you can alter, for any correspondent depot, any field on the
second page of the CORRESPONDENT TRANSFER PROFILE.
The exception is the Logon Allowed field, which cannot be modified by the depot
owner. It can only be modified by a system administrator who is not the depot owner.
