TRANSFER Administration Guide Volume 1 Reference Manual
6 Managing Group Profiles
40591 Tandem Computers Incorporated 6–1
Overview This section describes how to modify attributes in an interest group's TRANSFER
profile.
Every group depot contains a TRANSFER profile, established when a new interest
group is registered with TRANSFER. TRANSFER uses the TRANSFER profile to
define the TRANSFER operating environment for that interest group.
The profile can be modified to accommodate an interest group's needs. Users can
access and customize group profiles according to their privileges, as follows:
Correspondents can view attributes of groups to which they belong.
Read-only administrators can view the attributes of any group.
Group creators can modify profiles for groups they have created.
System administrators can change most profile attributes for interest groups.
Some parameters, however, are best managed and altered only by the system
manager.
You update profiles by calling up the INTEREST GROUP PROFILES screen from the
MAIN MENU. The INTEREST GROUP PROFILES screen is, in turn, a menu from
which you can move to the two-page INTEREST GROUP TRANSFER PROFILE screen
Figure 6-1 shows the flow of the group profile screens.
